Therapy for children and adolescents

Anxiety, depression, and other psychological difficulties often present very differently in children and adolescents, making it challenging for parents, teachers, and other caregivers to understand where frustrating behaviors and troubling thoughts and feelings are coming from.

My aim in working with children and adolescents is to understand their current symptoms and behaviors within the context of their unique histories and relationship constellations and to work collaboratively with both patients and caregiver(s) to foster an understanding of these underlying dynamics while actively addressing and mitigating distressing symptoms.

I have received extensive training in both art and play therapy, modalities that help children and adolescents to express their thoughts and feelings in ways that feel less threatening and that enable them to communicate emotions and experiences that are difficult to put into words.
